Managing Package Keys on Package Keys page

Creating Package Keys

A Package Key is generated when you create an application and associate it with one or more Packages. Refer to Applications for more information.

Package Keys require an associated application. You can create Package keys only for an existing application. After you create a Package Key, you cannot modify it; you can modify only the Package Key Settings.

note

Administrators cannot assign a package key to a disabled or inactive user in the Boomi Cloud API Management area.

Procedure

  1. Click Package Keys on the Get Started page or navigate to Manage > Package Keys. This opens the Manage your Package Keys page.

  2. Click New Package Key. This opens the New Package Key window.

  3. In the New Package Key window, provide the following values:

    a. In Username, enter the username for which you want to create the package key.

    b. In Application, select an application from the list corresponding to the selected username.

    c. In API Package, select a package from the list.

    info

Every API Package should have an API Plan. You must ensure that the selected package from the list has a plan associated with it. If not, create a plan for it. Refer to Creating API Plans for more information.

    d. In API Plan, select a plan from the list corresponding to the selected package.

    e. Optional: In Expiration Date, select an expiration date for the key, or leave it empty if you do not want the key to expire.

    f. In Which type of key would you like to create?, choose Generate a new key or Enter a custom key.

    1. If you choose Generate a new key, the system generates a new package key value.

    2. If you choose Enter a custom key, enter your custom package key value in the Custom Key field.

      note

The Custom Key field supports only letters (A–Z, a–z), numbers (0–9), and the special characters _ - . :. Any other characters are not supported.

  4. Click Save and close or Save and continue.
